Animal BioPeanut found herself at the Kelowna BC SPCA shelter when her former guardian was unable to provide the care she needed for a bad case of mange. She also needed to have two teeth extracted, so my husband and I were asked to foster her while she recovered from dental surgery. Peanut might have looked somewhat scraggly with her bald patches and thinning hair, but her loving spirit won our hearts. Even Otis the cat seemed to agree she belonged with us, so we applied to adopt her in February of 2017. It's been just over a year since Peanut joined our family, and she's enriched our lives in more ways than I can say. Her hair hasn't all grown back and it looks like that's the way it will be, but she's still beautiful inside and out.
Thanks and credit to Jenn Jones of Ragg Dog Pet Photography for capturing the spirit of Peanut in this photo.
