Rocky is a farm dog through and through, he is very playful and often forgets he is no longer a puppy. Rocky is always very excited to see someone come up the driveway at the farm and will jump all over then with his muddy paws; but not with Carrie. He knows to stay calm and always greets her by sitting down and resting his head on her lap as she opens the car door. He has been her loyal farm dog for several years.

In June of 2014 Carrie went out to go weed the garden early in the morning with her loyal friend Rocky. Sometime after beginning she suffered a massive heart attack and stroke. Rocky made such a commotion by barking and yelling loudly that he was able to wake her grandson who was staying with her on the farm. It was then that he was able to call 911, perform some basic first aid, and maintain an open airway until emergency services arrived.

After approximately a week of hospitalization, Rocky was able to visit Carrie in the hospital. He was very excited for the car ride, but as soon as he saw Carrie he sat by her side. His photo stayed on Carrie’s bedside table at the hospital for several months while she underwent stroke rehabilitation, and open heart surgery.

In the late fall of 2014 Carrie was finally able to go back to her farm and recover in the quiet company of Rocky at her farm.
