Animal Bio
The first thing people notice about Ellie Maya are her ears. Hard to miss those babies. She is like a miniature deer with polka dots. Her breed is a Peruvian Inca Orchid Dog mix, and she so full of energy it is hard to keep up. It took her a few months to settle into our home after being found as a street dog, but with a lot of love, basic training and daily walks with our Labrador Hudson, she is finally feeling like she is a permanent family member.
When she arrived, she was very timid and scared. Any loud noise or quick movements sent her cowering into a corner. We knew it would take some time for her to feel confident that she was in a safe and loving environment, and it was helpful that Hudson was there to keep her company when we were not able to be home for a few hours.
Now that she has realized she is here to stay, her personality has awoken. She can run like the wind, is incredibly playful, and truly a sweetheart.
We are too fortunate to have such a lovely little spirit to care for, and Hudson has taken her under his wing as the old master of the house. She never ceases to entertain with her quirky ways and we look forward to many years to come with her in our lives.
