I never meant to adopt a cat. The Victoria SPCA needed a bit of help with fostering, so they extended their plea to all volunteers, including the dog walkers, like myself, and I ended up with Arthur. It didn’t take long for me to realize what an energetic and curious personality he had. Not to mention all the love he had to give. A week and a half later, when they asked me to bring him in to get his shots and go up for adoption I said “umm no actually I don’t think I’m going to give him back.” And adopting him was the best decision I ever made. Since then, at 3 years old, with me for 2 of those, he has discovered how to open every sliding, folding, and handled door that exists in our home. He loves sprinting around the apartment, morning cuddles, and playing fetch...when he’s in the mood.
