Ellen was a tip to a doorman at a hotel I worked at. He didn’t want her and gave her back to the guest. Ellen wouldn’t come out from under the bed for anyone. Until I came in delivering room service and asked if I could see her. I looked under the bed and said hi to the most beautiful face I’ve ever known. She walked right over to me. Bumped me in the head and I said I’d take her. 15 years later she is still my best friend, my heart, and my baby.
