Annikin is a nature girl who adores running around in the fields and jumping into rivers even in the winter! She was already 6 years old when she came to us from a shelter in northern BC. As an 'Pastore Maremmano Abruzzese' (Italian Sheep dog) she was used to being in charge of flocks of sheep but had decided one day that she no longer wanted to sleep outdoors. So without much ado she walked away from her job. That was 10 years ago. Annikin now prefers to sleep on an orthodic mattress and only occasionally takes notice of passing wildlife or boring sheep. She is now 16 years of age and suffers from arthritis in both hips, but that doesn't stop her from running up the hill behind our house to watch the sunset!
