Izzy was adopted at our local SPCA shelter that my mom and I were volunteering at, at the time. She told me, "We're only here to play with and pet the cats, we're not coming home with one." Two days later, Izzy came home with us. He was the last one between him and his sisters to be adopted, arriving at the shelter as a tiny kitten with ear mites. We've had Izzy for over 10 years now, and he is the best cat ever (Slightly biased opinion? You tell me.). I've grown up alongside him, and he has grown up himself. From an energetic 1 year old, to a still kittenish 12 year old now, Izzy has warmed the hearts, and my feet, of many, and still remains photogenic to this day.
