Zelda was adopted by us from a reserve at approximately 4 months of age. I had been looking for a bit and another adoption fell through. I saw her on the SPCA website on Thursday, called them immediately and drove very far to pick her up on Saturday because I knew she was special. I wasn't sure if she would attach, until she curled herself around my legs while we were playing ball in the grass. Since then we have been inseparable! She always follows her nose given her coonhound instincts!! Overtime, she has adjusted to being with people, in the community and, around other animals. At times, it has been quite difficult with her adjusting to the expectations of a less rural setting, we learn from her every day and have to be very patient. She is loving and very empathetic towards others needs, particularly children. When she hears a child cry, she immediately has to go them, child sometimes can have the undesired effect. Given her coonhound tendencies, she is so attached and loyal to us and I couldn't imagine having another dog. We have been so fortunate to have her, she always gets us out and about in the community! :)
