Animal BioEvery night for months we would see Minnie at our kitchen slider. After the first few nights we began to put some kibble and as soon as we would walk away she would run up to eat her treats. After a month or so we went from door to door looking for her owner. No one claimed her. Minnie continued to visit us every night, then one night we decided to take a photo of her and with the photo went around the neighbourhood. Then one night one neighbour showed up at our door with Minnie in his arms. He asked 'is this the cat that keeps showing up at your doorstep?" It was!! He told us that he had a dog and she was afraid of dogs. So she would not go into the house, he said and if she does not want to come into the house then she can go her way. At that point he took her back to his home but next night Minnie came returned for a visit. We continued to feed her at the same time encouraged her to come closer to us so we could pet her. She became more comfortable. Then one day we picked her up and brought her into the home. The first night she cried the second night she did not want to go outside. And so Minnie became ours. The first week she was inside we groomed her, bathed her and made her look very pretty. She allowed us to groom her and while doing so she would purr like mad. She loved to be pampered. She was an extremely gentle cat, never hissed, bit, scratched or caused any damage. She was the perfect Minnie. We had four indoor cats and Minnie was one of the four. All four.... no problem only loving, comfortable, beautiful kitties.... Each gave off rays of nothing but LOVE. We loved them so dearly (Note: At the time, there was No SPCA facility available in our city)
