Animal BioNova and I found each other last August, when she was at the Cowichan SPCA. Our kids were at summer camp there, which is the only reason I would have been there that week. Our last rescue Ripple, a wonderful Coonhound from Whistler, had passed away the year prior at 14 and our family was missing canine love.
Nova, known then as Electra, was there with 2 brothers, and they had not been treated nicely. Within seconds of meeting, Nova was on my lap and it was love. My heart was hers and I couldn't wait for my daughters and husband to meet her.
They loved her too. This pup blossomed. She started out being frightened of almost everything, especially stairs, fire hydrants and almost anyone who wasn't us. With love and encouragement, she has become a strong, confident dog that loves every animal and person she meets. While she's still a little apprehensive around beards or hats, she is no longer fearful. Destined to be one of the finest dog athletes in the land, Nova is strong and agile and rocks every trail we take her on. She has many good puppy friends and gets to meet new ones on hikes or at the dog park.
Nova is also a professional cuddler. She is amazing with the kids and can snuggle with them all night. She loves pets, giving kisses, belly rubs, rolling around on her back all over mom & dad's bed and sneaking onto the trampoline with her sisters. Life is now complete again!
This lovely gal is just over a year old and destined for a life of happiness and adventures! If you see her on Maple Bay Beach, throw a stick for her and she'll love you forever.
Thank you Cowichan SPCA! We are beyond thrilled that Nova has completed our family.
