Cyrus and Mabel are both gone now, but never forgotten. Cyrus my mom's beloved Golden was my Mabel's hero. Till near the very end Cyrus seemed resigned to pretending Mabel didn't exist---until Mabel was attacked by a brazen cat. Cyrus took off after that cat like a bat out of hell and when the cat retreated he went right back to his indifference. Mabel adored that boy! We miss them both.
