The day we walked into the Burnaby SPCA became the absolute BEST day of our lives! There was Tracker, jumping up and down in the kennel, yelping and wagging his tail when he saw us! I think he knew even before we even did, that we were meant to be a family! He hugged us both before we left and to this day he is the most cuddly, sensitive and affectionately loving dog I have EVER had the privilege to know!
Tracker came down from up north, and had been likely abused, neglected and ran away. Despite the struggles he faced in those days, my husband and I have made it our goal to make sure that Tracker knows that he is our fur baby and that every day we have him he is loved up, just like he unconditionally loves us! From celebrating Gotcha Days, to Birthday’s, and to Christmas, with lots of love, treats, toys, chews and all of his favourite people, not to mention any other time I feel like getting our little fur baby something to show just how much he means to us! This also extends to our day to day with Tracker, where we always check in each morning, when we get home from work and before we go to bed “been loved, walked, fed and had a play?” is our motto in our home! We embrace each day that we get to celebrate with Tracker!
Tracker loves his days at Doggy Daycare, and the Dog Park, but doesn’t enjoy his teeth being brushed! He loves going to the vets and boy are they happy to see him, he certainly brightens their day! They often say that they have never met a dog who is so calm and affectionate when they are having to for example take his temperature! That’s just the way our boy rolls! Tracker shares an amazing ability to bond with those who love him! From my Mom and Grandma who both have Dementia, whom he absolutely adores and makes them both feel so very loved and special!! To two children with Autism that he has helped by being the type of dog who is so easy to love, and who so unconditionally loves these two kiddos! That’s not to mention that often times our friends kids come to have a sleepover or hangout with us, but it is truly Tracker that has pulled them into his web of magic!
Tracker’s web of magic consists of unconditional love, first class silliness, tug of war play, and full on “I am a cutie pie! Gotta love me!” Our lives have furever changed, and our world is a better place because of Tracker and all he brings to us and those around him!
Thank you to the SPCA for all you do! And for giving homes to so many animals in need who truly deserve to be loved like they love! It is a rich blessing to have one of your beautiful creatures in our home, and we will be fureverly thankful for our Tracker, he is our furbaby, and I couldn’t imagine a life without him!
