Sofie, my soul mate and BFF, was rescued from a high kill shelter in Riverside, California. She was 9 months old, stick thin and afraid of her own shadow. Sofie came into my life during an extremely difficult time, she actually rescued me!!!

I will never forget the day we met. I went to meet her at her foster mom’s home. I was told she had to be coerced by a treat to come close to anyone but as soon as I sat down she jumped into my lap. Her foster mom was shocked as she had never done that before. I looked into her human-like eyes and felt that somehow I knew those eyes. After filling out an 8 paged application I learned there were 65 others who were interested. Thankfully for me her foster mom felt Sofie and I were meant to be and the rest is history.
