Animal BioZach was adopted from the SPCA after being rescued from an animal hoarding situation. He was in poor health, terrified, and yet still so full of love! With luxating patellas and an anxious personality, Zach was a deemed a"special needs kitty" and sadly spent a long time in the shelter waiting for his forever home, even more devastatingly adopted once, only to be returned shortly after.
When I read Zach's profile on the SPCA website, I knew he was going to come home with me the next day! I too have luxating patellas due to a connective tissue disorder, and the moment I saw him, I knew I had made the right choice. Four years later, and Zach fills my heart with joy every day!
Zach is the biggest lovebug, with a huge personality. As a chronically ill individual, Zach is my near-constant companion, snuggling with me on bad pain days, and always making me smile when it seems impossible to do so. He wakes me up at night if I'm having difficulty breathing, and on more than one occasion has "meowed for help" to alert my housemates if I have fallen. He greets me at the door every time I arrive home, sleeps next to me every night, and always thanks me with a head rub after he gets his dinner, vitamins, and joint supplements.
Zach spends his days birdwatching from his window hammock, playing with his favourite toys, and dreaming of catnip, tuna, and no doubt, more birds! He is abundantly loved (and spoiled)....and it's hard to say who rescued who.
