Pit bull boxer lab mix Bubba had a bad start in life as a pup he was attacked continually by “ the pack” he was a reservation dog. He eventually became one of the “pack”
At some point He was given to a family member when his parents moved off the res & into a small apt in Town, & couldn’t take him, he was then passed on to a friend of the family where he was left to his own devices with another dog to survive out in the field at a unattended farmhouse, & was then that someone brought him to the SPCA ( no idea what happened to the other dog) at least this was the story I was given so really I have no idea his past life, what I do know he was under weight and had worms & was 2 yrs old when we adopted him. He is now 4 at a healthy 95 lbs he’s happy and loved by everyone who he meets, he loves people and kids but doesn’t get along with his own kind however when we brought him home he met Cooper our son’s dog they are still sorting out their Alpha but 90% of the time they get along, it’s a work in progress! I am told I got lucky when I picked him at the Shelter but I tell them we just went there to walk the dogs and pet the cats, after a week or so of doing this the staff informed me that Bubba would go crazy as soon as he saw our car arriving he knew we were coming it was then I noticed his excitement each time we stepped out of the vehicle we made a point to walk him last and keep him with us the longest & it was then he really pulled on my heart strings, it was so hard after that to leave him at the shelter, being such a big dog I was at first unsure about him but that soon melted when his big amber eyes stared at me really looking into me that I knew it was time to bring him home. He picked me and my 15 yr old daughter we were his choice! We were his family! And the rest is history, pit bulls get such bad reviews and given his start in life he is the most amazing loving trusting protective pet anyone could ever ask for, Bubba is our gentle giant we love this boy and I know he loves us back, he loves to chase deer something we try to discourage, in fear of him getting hurt! he loves going for rides in the vehicle with his head hanging out going for runs in the Bush, going for walks and playing in the back yard with his favorite ball and he loves leaning on you to get as close as he can to you almost knocking you over but the sweetest thing he does is climb on you to snuggle when he is feeling all lovey, or hog the couch as he’s doing with one of my daughters in the photo lol.
ADOPT An ANIMAL before you decide to buy from a breeder!! There are so many animals that deserve loving homes!!! We got lucky but so can you there’s a pup or cat even a unwanted rabbit just waiting for you please SAVE a life!!
