Entrant's First NameColleen
Animal BioAh... my baby girl. I adopted her through Bosley's Pet Store that was doing it for the Abandon Kittens Society in Victoria when she was 3.5 months old. The Society sure had a detailed application to fill out to get approval to adopt. She's a mixed breed, but what she shows the most of is Bengal.
When I took her home I put a harness on her and it didn't bother her. It was the same for the leash so I took her around a group of people and that didn't either. Whenever we're out of our apartment she is always wearing a harness and leash.
Living in small apartment there isn't room for a litter box so she's been trained to use the toilet. She does roll the toilet paper after she's used the toilet as if she's outside covering up her business. Little did I know that having the toilet paper falling down on the back of the roll has the paper going round and round and not on the floor!
She accepts it when I'm putting shirts on her and doesn't mind wearing her rain jacket when it's raining. She likes to ride the buses. She's walked through a few puddles of water (I've taped one!). She's been around a lot of people. Last summer I took her to Jericho Beach to watch the fireworks. Can be very active. She prefers the cooler temperatures and was out on the balcony when it was -2! In summer time when she's wearing the cool vest she comes out from under the bed. Oh, so much to tell.
It's just the two of us and she likes to be near me. I've been able to rub her belly when she's in a deep sleep on my lap. She looks into my eyes and it doesn't bother her when I look into hers. She likes people, but not for their attention; she likes to observe them.
She's very smart girl and is a good learner. She seems to understand what I say, but I wish that I can understand everything she tells me.
