Animal BioTina was at Victoria Animal Control when I was adopting my cat Max, a large black and white tuxedo guy. I asked, "Who is his best friend?" They said, "This tortie kitten follows him everywhere." Tina was a few months old and with a somewhat aloof tortie personality. I brought them home together, even though I had not intended to get a kitten. That was 12 years ago. They have remained a romantic couple with only occasional spats and swipes. Max is a big lovable guy who loves everyone and is very mellow. He has a very good memory for who brings him treats, but a very poor memory about the need to stay off the kitchen island. He loves head-butting. He has a chronic upper respiratory condition and at 14 is beginning to show his age. Tina as a kitten gleefully destroyed everything in her path including curtains and plants. She was not a lap cat but after nine years here she jumped into my lap and has not left since! Tina was a very healthy girl for a long time but now has kidney disease. She is stable on her medication. I hope my lovely couple, Tina and Max, have many years ahead.
