We brought Marcia home December 30, 2017. She was 9 years old and very scared. She had been abandoned. I can't imagine anyone leaving their loved one behind! She hid behind the computer downstairs for the first 3 weeks and it took quite a bit of coaxing to get her to come and sit with us. Every noise would send her running back to her hiding place. After 3 weeks, Kent managed to coax her upstairs and it didn't take long before she was ruling her new home, exploring every room and crevis, safe and very much loved! She loves to be brushed, in fact it's the first thing we do in the morning - coffee has to wait. And of course, she asks to be brushed throughout the day as well. She is very demanding when she thinks it's bedtime, which means "treats"! She loves to sit in the downstairs window and watch the birds and squirrels in the backyard and the rascally raccoons drive her crazy when they stroll by at night to stop and say hello through the window. We are so blessed to have Marcia in our lives. I truly believe that God took us to the shelter that day 2 1/2 years ago. I thank Him every day for our little girl.
