Riley lived true to the pug breed - a big dog in a small body! Full of fun and loyal to his human family and his pug sister Rosie. Riley had a full life guarding the home front and patrolling the garden for intruders of squirrels and deer.

He loved the beach in the off season and the family trips we took to Hornby Island. He had a wonderful zest for life for new adventures, meeting furry friends and food of course! He loved new places to explore and we did have to be mindful as his pug body had a way of completely blending into the landscape - long golden grass or logs on a beach and he could magically disappear into thin air.

He did have a penchant for going AWOL when his family took him to the great outdoors where dogs were permitted off leash. With radar precision he would find the secret way out through a fence or a clearing in the bush and vanish at lightening speed.

He did love to explore! His human family found an extendable leash and beat him at his own game.

Riley was a great companion who was very dignified and appreciative of his home and family. Forever faithful and loving - Riley was a wonderful boy and a joy to have in our family.

Let's work together so that all dogs have the respect and love they deserve. Riley's unconditional love and and support for a family member during illness will never be forgotten. He was always there for us. I often say he was the best doctor in town. Like Riley - all dogs deserve a good home . Thanks for reading, sharing and supporting the SPCA.
