Trooper (named for the band) was adopted from the SPCA in Vancouver approximately 6 years ago. She had suffered severe injuries including a broken jaw, a severed nerve to her front left leg, leaving it paralyzed, and a tail with about 3 90% bends in it. We quickly realized, although there were many wonderful pets available for adoption, Trooper's chances for adoption were not great. We couldn't just leave her there! After extensive surgery to remove damaged teeth and remodel her mouth it was determined that the risk of damage to the paralysed leg was high so that too was removed. As you can see, she is quite chill with it. She just woke up and wasn't expecting a photoshoot.
