On March 3, 2020, Bobby Jo was released to our care; ten days later the whole world shut down. Amid this COVID fear, Bobby has been our joy. Amid the uncertainty, Bobby is a welcomed routine and responsibility. Within all the chaos, Bobby is chaos of the most entertaining kind!

In November, we said goodbye to our beloved Boston. We were all heartbroken but no one more than Georgia, our Boxer. What we needed in a puppy was someone durable, persistent, and indifferent to George’s grumbling. It arrived in this little brindle bullet we call Bobby. George and Bobby are glued to each other: where she goes, he goes which is why he was so quickly house-trained!

Just a few houses from the beach, Bobby and Georgia have daily off-leash runs in the sand and trails. We have a big fenced yard where they sun on the patio, or curl up around the evening campfire. In between some hard core naps, there is constant playing. When social distancing shrinks, Bobby will have a world of friends and family including Grandma and Grandpa!

So far, Bobby’s medical issues have been addressed; he is growing healthy and strong. Bobby’s language grows daily as he learns the names of toys, games, and expectations. He has learned that he can tell us what he needs, and that we will understand him. Bobby arrived with some fears including belts and brooms but those reactions disappeared when he learned that no harm will come to him ever again.

Georgia’s favorite toy has always been her pig. Today, we have a live pot-bellied Frenchie who oinks all day long! We adore him and he has enriched our lives in countless ways. Sometimes I turn my lamp on just so I can watching him sleeping between us. Thank you for entrusting this little guy to our care. Our love is simply an extension of yours at the Vancouver SPCA.
