Riley is a mischievous bundle of joy.
Her life did not start out that way though.... the first 5 months of her life, she was kept in a cage with her sister. No place to "potty". Sleeping in her own feecies.
Luckily, Riley and her 65 siblings were rescued from this horrific Langley puppy mill.
And I've been blessed with Riley (also known as Gretchen Wieners by the SPCA).
At first, she would not walk up the outside stairs. They scared her. The hardwood floors scared her. The sound of the TV and dishwasher startled her.
But she Loved the bed, sleeping on my pillow with her cute little paws in the air. I soon realized that she was going to be a handful.
Riley struggled with other dogs and lacked confidence . To help her navigate and increase her confidence, I enrolled her in agility classes. She blossomed. The agility classes brought out her playfulness. Now she loves to chase and be chased. No longer struggling with other dogs. She is a gentle soul.
As you can see from this picture, she loves the snow. Sticking her nose in the fresh snow and blazing her own path.
Being a water dog, she also loves the water and especially if you are going out fishing. She will be right beside you, full of enthusiasm, as you pull in the traps, or net a fish.
No matter where you are, or what you are doing, Riley will be sure to entertain you.

This little bundle of joy puts a smile on my face every morning as she greets me when I wake up and is a comfort as we snuggle on the couch before going to bed.

I can't thank the SPCA enough for all that they do for our furry friends. The care and devotion is amazing.
Thank you for picking me to be Riley's mom. It is a gift I will be forever grateful for.
