Meet Large Marge,

This big beautiful lady was adopted from the SPCA in Sechelt in September 2025! She’s found her furever home in Vancouver with her loving mom, dad and sister (Winter, our adopted black lab). The timing couldn’t have been better, we were heading on an international trip and as we were boarding the plane, I saw Large Marge on the SPCAs Instagram feed. I told my husband, we need this cat! So before the plane doors shut, I filled out the application. The SPCA got back to me before I had even landed and were thrilled that someone was interested in Marge. I was worried Marge would be adopted in the two weeks that I was gone but the stars aligned, and she was waiting for me! With no ferry reservation, I trucked my way over to the coast to meet Marge. We had an instant connection - she knew she was going home. I scooped up Margey and we headed back to the mainland with one sailing wait and plenty of time to bond. She immediately got cozy in her new cat bed in the car and it was so clear I’d made the right decision.

Marge is on a weight loss journey - she does daily steps down the hallway, works on ab strength for 15 every day and climbs onto the sink to drink her fresh extra cold tap water. Her latest weigh-in she had already lost 1 whole kilo in 3 months! She impressed her vet and us! Her spirit to keep going is so inspiring! Marge is hilarious, she’s always making us laugh with her personality and most recently she’s decided 5 am is when she’d like breakfast…some of Marge’s favourite activities are helping us make the bed, chasing her cat nip filled duck Sebastian around the house and having a good ol snuggle at bedtime. We love Marge so much.
