Please let us introduce you to Handsome. He was adopted from the SPCA in Nanaimo in 2020 to his forever home with his mom and dad. The family had lost its senior kitty (also adopted from the SPCA) earlier in the year and was looking for a cat to shower love upon. When we first met Handsome, we could see his beautiful green eyes and handsome markings on his face from within the Hide, Perch & Go box inside the SPCA enclosures. As we approached and the cage was opened, Handsome’s beautiful face emerged along with the body of a giant Norwegian Forest Cat that was crammed into the box, much to our surprise. From the moment we met Handsome, he has been showering love upon us more than anything else.

Handsome is the life of any party that we host. He is the quintessential gentleman and makes sure to greet everyone that visits the house. He takes his hosting duties seriously and attempts to sample guest drinks and food to ensure that they are up to his standards. When he gets a night off from hosting, Handsome is always around his humans and he regularly cuddles with one or both of them to watch movies, check out animals outside, and “helps” with puzzle time. He loves to play and can be found chasing lasers, toy mice, and playing soccer each night with his dad. At night, he cuddles on his mom’s feet and borrows the use of her heating pad to ensure that he’s nice and warm. On the cold winter nights, he asks to be let under the covers with his mom to ensure she is kept warm. When Handsome needs a break, he will disappear into a cupboard or his teepee (as an adopted Métis family member) for a nap to recharge his batteries. He will be turning 12 this year and we are having his annual birthday party this February to celebrate with all his favourite admirers. He fills our life with so much joy and happiness that we could not imagine having a more loving companion.
