Animal Bio
Sam was abandoned in a farming community when he was about 1 year old. He was hit by a car, and no one wanted to take responsibility for him so my husband picked him up and brought him home. (Fortunately Sam was only shaken up). He wasn't initially keen on the water, but he joined a household of water loving Labrador Retrievers, and eventually he became to believe he was one too, and reluctantly took to swimming and retrieving. Sam became "uncle" to more than one litter of Labrador puppies and took his responsibilities very seriously, allowing them to climb all over him, pull his tail, and chew on his ears. Sam was a truly loving soul. He passed away in 2018 after 13 years with us and his Labrador companions.
