Zoe is our first mixed-breed dog. Her mother is a Golden Retreiver and her father (who jumped the fence and got frisky) is a Flat-Coated Retreiver mixed with Border Collie. She is the smartest dog we have ever had. She was born on a chicken farm in Abbotsford, B.C. right near the airport. She has a brindle coloured coat - a streak job that didn't cost a thing! We have had her from a pup. She has survived two cruciate ligament tears with no surgery and is back to walking well. She is a great healer in more than one sense of the word. She was a huge ball/frizbee dog, but now she catches balls from a sitting position to protect her knees. She seems to know this is the best way now. At 11, she has many years ahead as she is in perfect health. She still loves to swim, she is great with kids and she welcomes every dog that comes to visit. She started life with a big brother Flat-Coat Zeb, but has been on her own now for two years. She grieved for two weeks after he died under her favourite bush, but, one day, just came out and she was over it. She is my angel girl; that's what I tell her every night. We love her!
