We adopted Mitzy 4 years ago from the Surrey SPCA. She had been abandoned by her previous owners because she was too "vicious" ― so they said. The SPCA volunteers were convinced she had been abused because of her apparent dislike of men. When we first arrived to see her she immediately made herself comfortable in my husband's arms, so much for not liking men! Right away, we knew she needed to be ours as we wanted to give her the loving forever home that she deserved. We had lost our beloved dog only 9 months earlier and were still mourning his loss when Mitzy came to us. We thought we were rescuing her, but it turned out that she healed our hearts instead. Mitzy has grown into the most loving, sweet girl. She loves to give lots of kisses and is a real snuggle muffin. Watching her become confident and come out of her shell has been amazing. Most recently she became a big sister to her little papillon brother, Jackson. We adore her... and she's no longer scared of men! It's amazing what love can do! She is our little fluffy, round 4 pound hero!
