Taro has gone from BC SPCA stray to the endeared mascot of the many dragon boat teams I (we) coach. From the Burnaby SPCA straight to a coaching motor boat 3 years ago, she has developed into a keen attendee at practices on False Creek in several different kinds of canoes as well as the motor boat. She even sports each team's jersey at regattas - requiring more than 3 wardrobe changes a day.

At first she was very feisty, barking at people as they warmed up with calisthenics before practices. She has since calmed down to a more supportive teammate greeting people with squirmy excitement and calmly watching practices from whichever vantage point she is given that day.

Taro has become a fixture at False Creek a Racing Canoe Club bringing joy to many but especially me. She is the best companion I could hope for. She comes almost everywhere with me, and always joyously.
