First Name
Daisy May

Hero Bio
Daisy initially belonged to a homeless lady who had to give her up when she found a place that would not accept pets. She took her to a veterinarian who promised to find a good home for her. Lucky for us we saw the ad in the window, fell in love with her and took her home with us. My life was extremely stressful at the time and I had been praying for something to help me get through the days. So I really feel that God had a hand in placing her with us. She has been the most loving, affectionate, endearing pet that we have ever had. She seems to sense your moods and is always there with a gentle lick as if to say "don't worry, everything will be alright" She fit in well with our other dog who had recently been diagnosed with diabetes and soon they were fast friends. Her love of people is evident in the way she responds to them. I hope to be able to have her become a therapy dog one day as I feel she will bring joy to the elderly and the sick just as my other dogs did. She looks out for our cat as well, and stands at the door to let us know that Monty is outside and wants to come in. She also rounds him up in the morning to let him know that his breakfast is ready! Our neighbors know our pets very well and we get lots of attention when we go for walks as Daisy walks along beside us followed by Monty! It's fun to watch people do a double take when they see this! I can't begin to tell you how much love and laughter this little dog has brought to us with her endearing ways. Snuggling up to you, in bed ,sitting on your head when you are on the couch and pushing her way in front of the cat if you dare to pet her first. We did have quite a scare when she was diagnosed with gallstones and had to have an operation. However she recovered well and we just have to make sure she stays on the right food which is hard as like a lot of little dogs she can be quite fussy. I can only hope that other people who are struggling will take the opportunity to look for a pet as loving as our Daisy whether it be a dog, cat or some other animal. They can help you through the dark days filling your life with happiness and giving you a reason to get up in the morning!
