This is a photo of my recently put down beloved rescued Dachshund Brando. He is my hero because he was also my mental health therapy dog. He had a remarkable ability to know when people needed that extra time or love when the world seemed so bleak. How I miss him and how I couldn't have made it through some of the trauma of the last years. PTSD is a cruel disorder that robs its victims of time, laughs, joy, sleep and peace of mind.
It was one of the hardest goodbyes ever, but the seriousness of his illness could not be stopped and I will never allow any of my pets to suffer.
All of my fur babies are rescues and I encourage those; especially with children to rescue an animal from a shelter as you will teach them so much and get so much more in return.
Not only are you saving a life you are showing your true colours by not supporting puppy mills something that must be abolished in Canada.

The love they give cannot be compared to anything else in this world.
