Hero Bio
Our dog, Jake, was originally found abandoned at the garbage dump in Quesnel with a sign on him that said “deaf, please take me.” He was soon transferred from the Quesnel BC SPCA branch to the West Vancouver branch. Back in October of 2013, he made a debut on Global News, “Adopt a Pet” segment. A few days later, he found his “forever home”.

In the year and a half that we have had Jake, he has improved our lives as much as we have improved his. He is such a goofy guy, that he constantly provides us with the opportunity to have a good laugh. Being an Australian Shepherd, he is a smart cookie! He surprised us all when he was awarded first place in his obedience class, not bad for a dog with a disability.

His favourite activity involves going to the dog park where he can safely play with other dogs and run around off-leash. He has an abundance of toys to keep him entertained; his favourites include his stuffed raccoon and his orange Chuck-It ball. He will gladly place these toys in your lap with steadfastness hoping for a playmate.

All in all, he has been a great addition to our household and we will forever be grateful for the happiness he is able to provide us everyday!
