Peanut is quite the little Survivor !! Coming into my life at 3 days old he and his siblings had been orphaned only a few hours prior. They needed looking after and I volunteered for the job. Late night feeds, ticking clock and extra warmth to help them progress and feel secure was the order of the day for several weeks to come. Being the runt, Peanut had a precarious start. He was considerably smaller than the other three and had greater challenges. It took considerable love, attention and extra feedings to pull him through but pull through he did and a tight bond formed between us. He truly thinks I'm his mama and is a real mama's boy. He is my little man. Today, at 6 months, he is a strong rambunctious teenager chasing and wrestling with his best friend Maya Bella - a one year old Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese cross and Piper, and his older grumpy Tuxedo Cat sister. Nursing Peanut (and his siblings) to health is one of the most profound experiences of my life and I am so grateful to have had it and to have him. He is a true treasure and I couldn't imagine life without him.
