Lady is my hero(ine) because of the open, loving heart that has taken her a long way in the past year or so.
At 5 years old, Lady found herself in a California shelter after belonging to a backyard breeder who allowed her to have too many puppies too often. Whatever neglect or abuse she endured left her with not only a broken back leg, but a fear of loud noises and men and indifference or fear of other dogs. Just a shy little girl with the big eyes.
How she came to me is the placing genius of West Coast Cocker Rescue. We are now 2 single ladies living Kitsilano, I pay the bills but Lady belongs to the entire neighbour. Any woman she meets is a candidate for best girlfriend status and she is learning to trust men as well.
As a rescued dog, Lady is a firm believer in Forever Homes. If she finds a lost sock or something like this baby-soother it comes home with her. The baby-soother is her treasure and has become her trademark in the neighbourhood.
Love you, Lady
