Our fiesty, beautiful Grrr was a shelter cat that we adopted shortly after moving to Vancouver 10 years ago. She isn't really a hero, but bears spinal damage from her life before she came to live with us without complaint... except when she is at the vet, where they have to put a label warning "Aggressive Patient" on her crate. Grrr greets us at the door and when we get up in the morning, comes when she's called, loves to be brushed, doesn't flinch when we scream and cheer at televised sporting events, purrs constantly, and doles out head butts and swats with equal dedication. Though some might say she was lucky to be adopted by us, the truth is, we are the lucky ones.
