Our nieces golden retriever was having a litter and she asked if we would like to have one. My husband and I had been talking about getting a puppy for a while as we are both dog lovers and have had several, we decided yes; this would be a great time for a puppy. "Rose" with the lime green collar was one of the 7 puppies delivered. We had fourth choice of puppies and therefore did not know which one we would be taking home for a while. We would watch the puppy monitor and visited the litter a few times picking our favourites. Our niece asked which one(s) we liked best and thought she might keep Rose and breed her, but eventually on one of our visits she presented my husband with a box that contained Rose's lime green collar and a rose; we were thrilled! My dear friend Rosie was battling brain cancer and passed in early June that year. We decided to keep Rose/Rosie as her name in memory of Rosie and also because she just seemed to suit the name. Rosie is just the best dog; so kind and loving, she gets along with all dogs and we cannot image life without her.
