Bennett is a 5 year old GSP, full of P and V. I had a previous pointer so l knew what I was in for! They make a home alive! He loves off lease trail walks, especially those that took us to water, and he can shadow hunt all day long!! In early August he got a couple of lumps removed at the vets, they weren't anything but he had developed a limp so we got an xray while he was under anesthesia. Sadly they found bone cancer in shoulder and spine. There isn't much too help except keeping him medicated to help with the pain. His walks are half a block these days, his breathing gets laboured, so I'm afraid it has travelled to his lungs. I am heartbroken and l think still indenial. He is still eating 3 meals a day, and loving it (especially the vanilla icecream lunches!) The world is his oyster these days as far as food is concerned. The other day after I gave him coconut pie, the look on his face was ( and if I could read his mind)"Damn you humans eat good"
Seeing this contest brought a smile to my face, it would be such a memorial for Benny. I would love to hold a Yellow Dog and laugh and cry in my beer, he always carries a Mr. SERIOUS expression, but I hope voters consider him. I don't do social media so I can't request everyone I know to vote for him. I will keep my fingers crossed and send my boy the love from all that vote for him. We spend many many hours cuddling these days. This is his first contest and sadly last, but what a fun one to be a part of.
