Hi, my name is Journey. I was a Black Lab, but more importantly, I was a service dog, best friend, and partner to my person for many years. We were a team in every sense of the word—I helped him, and in return, he gave me a life full of love, comfort, and plenty of treats (my favorite thing in the world).

I was named after the rock band Journey, and on my collar I wore the words “Don’t Stop Believin’.” That wasn’t just a phrase, it was how I lived my life—always believing in my person, in love, and in the joy of simple things.

I was known for my “Journey Dance.” Whenever I got excited, I’d wiggle my bum and sometimes my whole body, just to make people laugh. And it worked—no one could resist smiling. I loved belly rubs, cozy naps, and especially food (oh, food!). But what I loved most of all was being there for my person, every single day.

Everywhere we went, people fell in love with me. They said I was sweet, gentle, and loyal. But the truth is, I was just reflecting all the love I received. I was proud to be a service dog, to give my heart and my help freely, and to walk through life side by side with someone who meant everything to me.

Though I’ve crossed the rainbow bridge, my dance, my wiggles, and my unconditional love live on in the memories of all who knew me. I was more than a dog—I was family. And if I could, I’d tell everyone the same thing my collar always said: Don’t Stop Believin’.
