Monti was found clinging to life with her puppies next to a barge on Ambergris Caye, Belize. She made her way to the local animal shelter, SAGA, and then finally became a foster fail/success during Hurricane Earl in 2016. She lived with her human mom as an island potlicker (the Belizean version of a mutt) for 8 happy years in Belize, chasing iguanas and playing on the beach. In 2023, Monti and her mom made the big move from Central America all the way to North Carolina…which included a road trip from Texas to NC (and lots of pup cups). She wasn’t so sure about the move at first (there were no iguanas to stare out the window at or chase) but soon came to realize that being a North Carolina pup is pretty great too!
