Martha has been my spirit animal all these years. She was rescued from a wooded area from a feral Momma Cat. My son rescued the 3 kittens, 2 boys & 1 girl. Martha was presented to me on Mother’s Day. She was named after my tiny but feisty Nana, named Martha.
So I know, we all believe that rescuing animals is a goal for many of us. But the truth is, they actually rescue us.
2 years ago, I had a traumatic fall, requiring total replacement of my hip & femur bone. When I was discharged from hospital, all I could think about was seeing Martha. She was so gentle and astute about my physical condition, she would lay on my left side & knead the right injured side with her paws. And that is how humans get rescued. It’s a wonderful thing.
