Adopted from Orange County Animal Shelter at 7 months old, Nutmeg became the proud foster sister to numerous puppies fostered through Hope Animal Rescue. She was a champion puppy-wrestler (literally; the takedowns were a thing of beauty) and expert babysitter who only occasionally tried to steal puppy food. She mostly got squashed by exuberant puppies, squawked, and came back for more. She also had a thing for sinks, bathtubs, jumping on the backs of people doing push-ups or cleaning out her litterbox, playing fetch, and would spend hours on our screened-in porch. She was gentle with everyone, super friendly, and loved being with her people, if not on their laps. Devastatingly, our time with her was cut short due to saddle thrombus at two years old, but she will always be with us.
