We like to say that Cocoa just fell from the sky straight into our lives. We found her while walking our senior dog, Buddy, last June. She was sitting quietly in the tall grass of an empty soccer field, all alone—a tiny girl with giant ears and expressive eyes. The vet estimated she was about six weeks old.

Now full grown at 8 lbs., Cocoa is equal parts sweet and spicy (as evidenced by this photo—don’t get between her and a good nap!)

Our sweet Buddy passed away in March, and we tell Cocoa every day that we are so grateful she’s here, and that she had a chance to know and learn from Buddy. It’s hard to imagine life without finding that tiny girl in the tall grass.
