Rocket is the ultimate rescue dog recovery story! He came to us as a foster with the most severe case of mange the shelter had seen to date, nails growing back into his paw pads, skin and bones, and terrified of the outdoors. After 8 weeks of recovery he’d cemented a place in our hearts and home, and we adopted him. Now, a year later, he’s a healthy, fit, sun loving wild man who loves baking like a puptato outside, making friends everywhere he goes (esp at dog friendly breweries), walking Umstead, and running laps around the yard. He still sports some scars from his mangey days but we think that makes him all the more amazing and adorable.
