Rita was a BellyRubs Basset rescue. Her foster, Bo, told me she was found in a trash can and she named her Ribbon because her ribs protruded through her skin. We renamed her Rita, after Rita Hayworth, because she had beautiful red ears (hair like Rita). In this photo she is playing with her friend Sophie who is also a rescue. Rita loves to chase groundhogs but lives in harmony with our cat Scooter. She tried to be queen of the basset ball but was too embarrassed because we made her wear a turquoise tutu in case she had to make an appearance. Now she sleeps on a chair looking out on the woods at night to make sure bears don't come too close! What a nice basset bugle she has to scare wildlife away! Please vote for Rita and support BRBR!
