Your Pet's Story or Bio
Sophie came into my life three and a half years ago via a local rescue group that pulled her from our county shelter. The shelter was going to euthanize her for hip dysplasia. Nope! Not gonna happen to this fabulous gal. We looked into a hip replacement but our new vet said that she wan't ready for that and we started an acupuncture regime along with some good supplements. Sophie is quite the lucky gal... especially since she gets to go to work with her mom every day. Yep! Mom owns a pet supply store. Towards the end of last year, Sophie started having problems staying upright on all four feet, so off to the orthopedic surgeon we went. Unfortunately, we got the diagnosis we were in fear of. Degenerative Myelopathy. So this photograph is of Sophie at her most recent acupuncture session. We can't win the fight against DM, but we sure would be honored to be a winning label for BFDR!
