Pet's Story or Bio
Lucy was born in a high-kill shelter in Texas on November 22, 2016, and was brought to Denver, along with her litter mates, by Mile High Lab Rescue in February 2017. We had lost our black lab, Kramer, a few years earlier, and knew we were about to lose our very senior border collie mix rescue named Newman. We had begun searching for a male black lab we planned to name George. Our friends who foster dogs for Mile High, sent a picture of three pups in the litter, all female, two of whom looked like black labs, and Lucy who looked nothing like a lab! We thought we were set on a male black lab, until we saw the picture of this sweet girl with the freckled face and fabulous ears. She stole our hearts. Divine intervention brought this angel into our lives.
Lucy lives for her daily walks/hikes, snuggles with her two boys, squirrel chases, squeaky toys, and being anywhere her family is. People stop us daily on our walk to ask what kind of dog she is, and often ask to take her picture. She should be an ambassador for rescues. Everyone who meets her loves her, though nobody more than us!
