Dog's Age15
Pet's Story or BioI rescued Nana as a tiny puppy from a homeless man with a “sick dog” at a gas station. At approx 3 months old, Nana was hours from death and weighed less than 7lbs. I could see every bone on her broken body, and her Ridge (Ridgeback Pitbull mix) caught my eye as this man asked me to save her. That day, I rushed Nana to an emergency vet. She had Parvovirus and somehow survived it. Ten years later, she returned the favor, by giving me precious seconds to drag my body under my car to attempt to hide from a near fatal assault in my driveway. Our assailant broke all of her front teeth, but not her spirit. Nana was kind soft and sweet to every human and animal she met. This is Nana just 9 months after the assault. Defender of all that is good, kind and right in the world. Nana quietly slipped into heaven at the age of 15 after fighting undiagnosed kidney disease on October 16, 2019. Nana would want all dog owners to specifically ask their vet to do regular testing for kidney disease, and to always spay or neuter your pets.
