Born in 2004 we quickly discovered Max had several serious eye issues. Uveitis, partial albinism, microphthalmos. He was on daily doses of eye drops and pain meds. Keeping him from running into things was challenging since Maxie didn't know he had a disability. We nursed his eyes back from many punctures and scratches. Then last September he poked an eye and it wasn't healing, by November the decision was made to remove both eyes, they were only a liability for him. He recovered quickly and seems to be a very happy senior pup. People are amazed when they see us walking, until they get close they don't even know he is blind.
