We saw a picture of Bowie, then named Ernie, when he was in McClean County, IL Animal Shelter. He had been there awhile and he was blind. My sons and and I drove to IL the next day to get him. We couldn't imagine leaving him in the small crate alone and scared. He is so loving and trusting. he was a little nervous we were going to abandon him at first and has to be with us almost 24 hours a day. The vets said he was likely born blind or went blind soon after birth. He was around 2 when we adopted him and is now 3. His retinas are detaching and he has a lot of pressure in the right eye. He needs to have his eyes removed immediately and we are currently raising money for the surgery. He is a very loved member of the family.
