Alright folks, check out the love of my life, my girl Lexi…or as we affectionately call her, our BAB (Bad A** Beagle). Adopted from BREW back in 2006 and previously known as Willow, Lexi continues to show her love for life through 19 years and counting! She actually wears the doggles (Doggie Goggles) due to a sunlight/shadow sensitivity when outside, as she is presumably losing her sight…but doesn’t she totally rock the look too!?

She has had a rough year, like so many of us, but this picture proves that she’s still got it and everything is ok. Despite her age, she survived 4-months of chemotherapy for lymphoma earlier this year and continues to battle ear infections and UTIs, along with long-term kidney disease. And despite all that, every once in a while she still shows the energy to literally run through the neighborhood pulling a big man behind her…racing back to get dinner! While she doesn’t have the same appetite she once had, she has grown to enjoy the delicacies of most human foods these past few months…steak is one of her new favorites!

We know she is on borrowed time, living way beyond any credible age range for beagles but we continue to take it day-by-day and love the hell out of her in the process. While her time here is very sadly coming to an end, I take incredible comfort and joy in knowing what an amazing life she continues to live…a life that has truly inspired her human soulmate and extended forever family, more than words can ever give it justice.

So please join me in celebrating our beautiful BAB, Lexi! She is truly a sweetheart!!
