Rufus was almost 7 when he came to us from BREW in August 2019. We were told he was food motivated, but that might have been an understatement. Rufus went on a diet and soon became the most handsome dog on the block—by far! He was our companion during the COVID lockdown—hanging out on the couch with us during morning coffee, taking us for walks, and keeping us company all day. As we emerged from COVID Rufus and our new granddaughter became friends. During her visits she and Rufus would march around the house with us in a big parade. The photo shows the contemplative side of Rufus. Sadly Rufus passed away earlier this spring. We think of him often and still imagine that we see him around every corner.
